Know your terms when shopping for containers

New (1-trip) Containers

These are exactly what the name says.  They are manufactured overseas, loaded with goods and shipped.  Many of our contained come from the Port of Baltimore.  After the goods are unloaded, the container is sold as new, because it’s in good shape with perhaps the exception of a few dents or dings.

Cargo-worthy Containers

These also known as Grade A containers. They are less expensive than a new container, but are usually in very good shape, because they could be used again for shipping goods.

Wind and Watertight Containers (WWT)

WWT shipping containers, which are also known as Grade B, can no longer be used for cargo, but are suitable for storage. These are much older containers and will often have surface rust, dings, dents, and other signs of age and use, so you’ll want to consider placing it out of public site or painting it.
